Getting Cheap Tapestries

There are many wonderful tapestries out there of all different styles. One complaint I often here though is that they are a bit expensive. While I disagree on the whole, I must admit some of them can be quite pricey. The Society6 tapestries for example, are a bit expensive. You have to understand though that these are custom prints of peoples artwork, not just generic tapestries pumped out of a factory!

Anyway I thought I would create a page collecting together some cheap tapestries for you to check out. The page is going to be updated soon to have loads more, but the idea is to have tapestries which are nice and affordable. You can take them on an outing to eat your dinner on and not worry about it getting ruined. These cheap wall hangings are really great because they actually look top quality, and they are! I own the Zodiac one and it's a fantastically made tapestry which only cost me $9!

If you are yet to get a tapestry I highly recommend visiting the page and checking these cheap wall tapestries. If it's not up to scratch or gets ruined, who cares its only $10! If you love the tapestry and how it looks in your home it may encourage you to spend a bit more on a personalised one. Or you may be perfectly happy with your cheap and cheerful tapestry!

Cheap tapestries also make fantastic gifts. We all know that awful feeling of getting our cousin an expensive gift knowing with all our heart they will love it, only to see that classic fake gratitude smile. Well now we don't have to give a monkey's what they think! Chances are that if you pick the right tapestry for the right person they will actually love it. If you go for a nice cheap wall hanging then it's no big deal if they don't. It's not like buying a fancy piece of jewellery only to realise in horror that it's too narrow to fit them...

Another fantastic route we can go down is to actually make our own tapestry! This is by far the cheapest option if you do it properly and best of all you can totally customise your tapestry to whatever you want. I would advise heading over to Amazon and checking out some of the tie dye kits they have. This is the best way to get started.

This video below can be used as a creative inspiration. You can see she has totally gone for her own style and has a talent for drawing. If you are really crap at drawing but still want to make your own then the tie dye route is definitely the best option. You can get some really crazy awesome designs even if you barely know what you're doing. It's such a cheap way to get fantastic results, all it takes is a little time and effort. I have done it before with t-shirts instead of tapestries and got fantastic results. You could even sell them if you make some really cool ones!

Trippy Tapestries

Trippy Tapestries

Psychedelic and trippy tapestries are one of the coolest kinds of tapestry around. There is an infinite number of crazy designs that can be done with tie dye and wacky colour schemes. Trippy tapestry designs are actually fairly popular at the moment. I think this is due to the rise in bohemian/hippie styles which are complimented strongly by vibrant colours.

You can check out our collection of  awesome trippy wall hangings and see what you think. The page is going to be updated with a whole bunch of new crazy tapestries soon which you're going to want to see! There is a good variety of psychedelic craziness for you to check out. The main theme is of course tie dye but there are lots of other styles of art featured. Have a look and see what you think!

If you're thinking to get a trippy tapestry, it's best to plan out how you want it your room first. They can work incredibly well if you have the right decor and items nearby. They can however, create quite a clash if you don't plan ahead. My suggestion would be to add in some tribal style ornaments like in the photo above!

If you don't have any ornaments or don't want them, these tapestries can still work really well. Just be sure to have surroundings that compliment the aesthetics of your wall hanging. If you're wondering what kind of things will complement the wall tapestry, just head over to Amazon or Etsy and have a good dig through related products. You will find all sorts of cool stuff that will work fantastically with the tapestry.

One amazing and cheap way to make your trippy tapestry really pop out is to use plants! Plants have a very hippie, boho vibe which is exactly what you're looking for. My personal favourite is the spider plant. These plants can grow to be quite large and they look absolutely gorgeous when hung from the roof in a basket.

Crystals are another solid choice. You will find countless different colours of crystals and gemstones online. They don't even have to be overly expensive. There are tonnes of cheap and gorgeous crystals on Amazon, Etsy and countless other sites. Pick a set of crystals the compliment the colour scheme of your trippy wall hanging. If you have chosen one with colder colours, then get blue and white crystals etc. I'm sure you get the idea, it's a really fun way to do decorating and there are loads of different routes and options for you to go down.

Lastly it's worth noting that trippy tapestries are the ultimate party decor. If you are planning on having a big party with your awesome hippie friends, be sure to get a trippy tapestry setup in the room where you're going to be. Your friends will absolutely love it, I can guarantee it! As the party rocks on into the night some of your friends will probably start to have conversations with the tapestry, this is an infinite source of amusement and fun, just be safe!

The video below features some awesome home made trippy greatness. You could easily do something like this yourself, tie dye kits are super cheap!

Cool Surf Tapestry

Cool Surf Tapestry

Check out this super awesome psychedelic surf tapestry. I found it on Amazon while checking out the latest awesome tapestries. It's a bit expensive but it really looks fantastic. I'm sure if the quality is good then it would be worth the money

I really like the attention to detail in this tapestry. The waves have insanely intricate lines and patterns flowing through the, The colours are also really well chosen. Using hot and cold colours can be a real gamble but the artist really knew what they were doing and created beautiful contrast.

The mandala pattern in the centre of the tapestry (the sun) is also technically brilliant. It contains vast amounts of detail and really has that trippy hippie vibe.

Overall I'm a huge fan of this tapestry even though it's slightly expensive.

Black And White Tapestries

Black and White Tapestries

We now have a page for black and white tapestries you can check out! Personally I am a huge fan of black and white themes, despite the insanely popular boho mandala trend. I feel like a black and white tapestry will help to bring you back to basics and keep you grounded in our hectic society.

While all the tapestries on the page are great, my personal favourite has to be the first one - the highland cow. There is something really relaxing and comforting about it.. I'll be damned if I can put my finger on what it is though. Check her out below, what a beauty!

Elephant Tapestries

Elephant Tapestries

Hey dudes, we have a new page dedicated to elephant tapestries over on toptapestries. Elephants are awesome creatures, they are absolutely massive yet somehow majestic at the same time. If you want to see some cool elephant tapestries head over to the page and check out our collection. We have put together a wide variety of different styles and will continue to add more as the site gains traction!

When using elephant decor and items in your home, I would advise having some different ornaments nearby depending on the type of elephant! For example you may want to use some Indian themed items if it's an Indian elephant and African type stuff like drums for an African elephant. If you can create a really original and identifiable theme in your house, it will look really great and appealing to your visitors. It will also uplift the mood like so many tapestries do and help to create a really comfortable environment.

If you're into the more cartoon or cute style elephant tapestries, you should try to compliment it in the same way. You may want to add some fairy lights to create a really soft atmosphere and even some candles for the ultimate relaxation area. I would actually advise creating a zone or area that you can totally chill out in. You probably already have something like this but I feel it's essential (especially in this day and age) to have somewhere you can detox from society and totally tune in to your own thoughts.

A sanctuary is what I mean, I suppose. A place where you can meditate, listen to music and just be alone. Having a tapestry in this space is a brilliant way to make it your own. Personally I think an elephant wall hanging is perfect for these zone out areas. There is something about them that is very hard to describe but they are such intelligent animals that it feels like it rubs off and sends you into deep thought. If you had a dog tapestry or something then sure its adorable but it doesn't have that same enchanting look that makes you drift off into thought. The tapestry above is one of my favourites because it looks like the elephant is gazing right into your soul. Like he has an important message he is trying to communicate...

Whatever style of tapestry you choose, just make sure it really vibes with you. If you have a partner check to see if they like it and if not, try find one you will both like. With such a vast array of wall hangings out there you will surely find something!

There is also a huge collection of tapestries over at Society6 which you can check out. There is some really great art on their website and it's definitely worth a look!

We would like to hear feedback on what kind of tapestries you would like to see next. If you have any suggestions please head over to our website and drop us an email! Also check out this short video which has some really cool elephant tapestries. It doesn't have any of the cool ones from Society6 but they're still pretty awesome!

Turtle Tapestries

Turtle Tapestries

I have always been a huge fan of turtles. I think they are gorgeous creatures and intelligent creatures. I recently made this page on turtle tapestries. I thought it thoroughly deserved a page of its own!

The things I love about turtles is that they seem so friendly and gentle in comparison to most other reptiles. I also love the fact that they can live to be ridiculously old, it makes them very mysterious and intriguing little creatures.

There are a huge variety of turtles out there in the ocean but my favourite is the good old leather back turtle. They can grow to be absolutely massive and are truly magnificent animals.

I hope to create more tapestry pages featuring all different kinds of animals. I recently made a page on cool unicorn tapestries because they seem to be a large trend right now.
